Simpson Pump Station Modifications

Location:
Village of Simpson, Fell Township

Description:
Pumping stations are provided at several points within the LRBSA wastewater conveyance system. These stations are used to transport wastewater from low-lying areas to a point of higher elevation where the water can flow by gravity through the sewer system. One such pumping station serves a section of the Village of Simpson in Fell Township. This station was originally constructed approximately 1970 and was last refurbished in 1999. The project will replace the existing pumping equipment and controls resulting in improved efficiency and reliability. In addition, the existing pumping equipment is located in an underground chamber accessed by a ladder. The station will be modified to locate the pumping equipment entirely on the ground surface facilitating maintenance and providing greater accessibility.

Completed: January 2019

Construction Cost: $289,298
